Federally Declared Disasters – FEMA Protocols
The Louisiana Cemetery Response Task Force was created to assess response and recovery needs to cemeteries during any emergency declaration by the state or any parish thereof. Following assessment, the Task Force is charged with leading and directing state and local resources for any necessary response and coordinating family interactions with FEMA and contractors for restoration work. Gulf Coast Forensic Solutions is proud to have become a trusted contractor for the Louisiana Cemetery Response Task Force. GCFS has completed restoration in dozens of cemeteries in Southwest Louisiana and is still working to return several cemeteries to pre-Hurricane Laura/Hurricane Delta conditions. The team at GCFS has partnered with multiple local businesses to provide all services needed to restore damaged cemeteries including tree removal, headstone repairs/replacement, vault/casket replacement, and reburial of remains. GCFS takes pride in taking care of families along the Gulf Coast region.
